A bridge here spans as the sole access to the elevated place of Civita, enclosed by eroded steep slopes. The steep break-off edges of the rock formation characterize the scenery and make the buildings on it appear like a crown. The entire plateau clearly towers above the surrounding valley, whose vastness opens up all around. Thus, Il Ponte di Civita leads to an almost island-like world that looks far into the hilly landscape.
