Photo spot Cristo Redentore
A narrow spit of land juts out high above the Mediterranean far to the west and north. The view extends over the deep blue bay of Maratea, enclosed by steeply sloping, wooded mountain sides. On the highest point of the cliff, Monte San Biagio, the Cristo Redentore is enthroned, visible from afar and with outstretched arms facing the waters.
A winding road winds in wide loops up the rugged slope and connects the small houses clinging to the cliffs. The buildings of the villages nestle against the green, densely wooded valley flank of the coastal mountains, which rises to the east.
Access: An access road from Monte San Biagio leads directly to the parking lot at the summit.
