Photo spot Marienbrücke at Neuschwanstein Castle
On the southern edge of the Pöllat Gorge, the Marienbrücke at Neuschwanstein Castle opens up as a floating viewpoint over a wide, hilly landscape. Here, on a rocky spur high above the valley, the fairytale architecture of the castle dominates the immediate surroundings. The gaze sweeps into the distance, where lakes and wide fields stretch to the horizon, conveying a feeling of boundless expanse.
The elevated position of the bridge makes it possible to grasp the extent of the pre-Alpine landscape: a harmonious mixture of wooded slopes and open, agriculturally used areas. The topography is gently undulating, and the surrounding valleys are traversed by clear watercourses that flow into the lakes visible in the distance.
Access: The Marienbrücke is easily accessible from Hohenschwangau via hiking trails.
