The Höhlenstein Valley opens here into a wide basin, in the middle of which lies Lake Dürrensee. Nestled between the steep, densely forested slopes of the Dolomites, the view of the jagged rock pinnacles is particularly impressive. The lakeshore shows a wide, sandy area that becomes shallower towards the water. The emerald green water of the mountain lake forms a beautiful contrast to the light shore and the dark mountain forests, while the rock formations in the distance shape the panorama.

Access: The lake is located directly in the Höhlenstein Valley.
