The Waterfall Path in the Stilluptal in the Zillertal Alps leads through a series of tunnels carved into the rock. This construction allows for a spectacular passage (by bike only) through the steep rock faces of the valley, which enclose the Stilluppbach. The valley itself is a long, narrow trough valley that cuts deep into the alpine terrain.

The tunnel openings offer precisely framed views of the opposite, often glaciated peaks of the Zillertal Main Ridge. The road here runs along the valley floor, surrounded by dense coniferous forests clinging to the steep slopes. The tunnels themselves are not natural caves, but human interventions that facilitate access to the rear sections of the valley.

Passing through the tunnels creates a strong contrast between the narrow, dark rock tube and the wide, bright mountain landscape outside. The lines of sight are clearly defined and direct the gaze immediately to the striking mountain formations that dominate the upper Stilluptal.
