Riomaggiore is a village that nestles on a steep slope above the sea, where colorful houses seemingly grow out of the rock and shape the coastline. The architecture is terraced upwards, almost as if it wants to catch a bit more sun with each floor, while the rock formations drop abruptly into the water.

This particular location between rugged coast and the sheltered, densely built slopes creates a very unique feeling of narrowness and vastness at the same time. The view opens to the Ligurian Sea, while the slope continues to pull upwards.
