Whoever stands here looks out from a tunnel portal directly onto the steep coast of São Vicente. To the left, the wide sea stretches out, on whose surf white mountains of spray rear up. To the right, a coastal road runs parallel to the towering, green rock faces that narrow the valley and offer the place a sheltered chamber.

The massive mountains shape the image, their flanks covered with dense, green vegetation that climbs upwards in terraces. The road hugs the slope, secured with natural stone walls.
