The narrow sea of houses of the Old Quarter nestles against a gentle slope that descends towards the valley, forming a sheltered hollow. The many half-timbered roofs of the settlement seem to interlock and follow the terrain, surrounded by densely wooded hills that limit the view into the distance and give the place a special sense of security. The church with its dome rises as a striking point slightly elevated above the roofs, while the rest of the buildings tightly yet harmoniously utilize the gradient.
