The Pragser Wildsee in the north is a place that does not reveal its secrets at first glance. Many come, see the panorama and move on, but the true beauty often lies in the details that one only discovers upon closer inspection. There are small, hidden coves and rock formations here that only reveal themselves if one is willing to leave the beaten path and truly explore the surroundings.

A common mistake I see here again and again is that photographers focus too much on the obvious expanse of the lake. In doing so, they often overlook the fine structures and color nuances of the shore area or the texture of the rock walls, which can appear completely different in the light. Sometimes it is the seemingly inconspicuous corner that holds the most interesting motif.

For this location, I recommend focusing on the vertical alignment of the tall trees and rock walls. The shoreline with its play of shadows also offers good opportunities. A lower perspective, emphasizing the water and the landscape towering above it, can also be very effective.
