A picturesque coastal view of the colorful Belle Époque villas along the promenade of Mers-les-Bains, flanked in the background by the striking, bright chalk cliffs of the Alabaster Coast (Côte d'Albâtre).
The stony boulders in the foreground create a beautiful depth effect and guide the viewer's gaze over the beach towards the coastline and the cliffs. The combination of rough sea, beach, the striking colorful seaside resorts, and the mighty rock face offers a strong contrast.
