The hilly landscape of Tuscany spreads out here in wide arcs, dominated by the striking skyline of San Gimignano. From the Via Vecchia per Poggibonsi, one overlooks the city as it rises on a gentle elevation in the midst of the undulating surroundings.

Innumerable towers stretch into the sky and characterize the image of this ancient settlement. Hence the title "Medieval Manhattan". The roofs of the houses seem to flow into one another, a dense network of stone and brick that glows in warm earthy tones. Behind the city, the lines of the hills blur in the haze of the distance, while the light paints the landscape in shimmering layers of color.
