Czocha Castle rises on the bank of the Leśnia Reservoir in Lower Silesia, near the border with the Czech Republic. A massive defensive complex with a dominant keep, whose architecture developed over the centuries from a medieval fortress into a palatial residential building, but never entirely lost its defensive character. The complex nestles against a rocky elevation above the lake; its rubble stone walls and red roofs shape the landscape.

The massive walls speak of defense, the red roofs of a long history of conversion. Here, the rugged nature of the border region and the permanence of human architecture meet. Access via the bridge leads into another time, where stone and sky are the only constant elements.
