The view from the Eiffel Tower sweeps over the sea of houses of Paris, which lays itself in gentle waves over the landscape. A seemingly endless succession of roofs and facades in various shades of grey spreads out, here and there interrupted by the green of the parklands.

Far in the distance, on a hill, rises the widely visible Sacré-Cœur Basilica, its bright domes a striking point on the horizon. From this height, the city appears like a living, breathing organism, its pulse hidden in the streets and alleys.
