Bosa is picturesquely situated in a river valley that opens towards the sea, where the city rises on a hill towards the Castelo di Serravalle. The colorful houses nestle closely against the slope, in gentle terraces that follow the shape of the terrain and form a vibrant mosaic. The development is dense and extends up the mountain in many layers.

Above the rooftops, the fortress rises on a wooded hill, its stone walls clearly standing out from the green macchia. In the background, further mountain ranges rise, giving the coastal region its characteristic, rugged shape and framing the valley.
