Classic and spectacular view from a rock crevice or from the viewpoints near the Bastei down to the winding Elbe, often with passing excursion boats and wonderful lighting in autumn.
The view through natural rock frames (foreground of sandstone) gives the picture enormous depth.

Look out for passing paddle steamers or excursion boats of the Sächsische Dampfschiffahrt on the Elbe – they add a wonderful, lively splash of color to the river.
