An octagonal wall stump stands in the middle of the olive grove, as if the trees had respectfully kept their distance, and the ruin of San Bruzio Monastery still hints under its Romanesque arches at how high the space once was. The bright, age-marked stone comes from the area and has the same color as the dry soil all around, which is why the walls appear to have grown rather than been built. Those who have Magliano in Toscana in mind will not find a viewing plateau here, but a medieval fragment that has remained alone in the farmland of southern Tuscany.
