Where the Danish mainland ends, one dune after another pushes towards the North Sea, and the white tower of Blåvandshuk Fyr sits on it like a final punctuation mark. It marks the westernmost tip of the country, it doesn't get more peripheral than this, after that comes only water.

The ground here consists of light sand, held in clumps by marram grass, and the hills roll softly and irregularly down to the sea. In between lie bunkers from the Second World War, grey and heavy, which appear stranded in the dune grass. It is a coastal strip where vastness, sand, and history lie very close together.

Access: The place is located near Blåvand in the Varde Municipality and can be reached via Fyrvej.
